Join experienced facilitator Sarah Clayton for this 3 hour, climate education workshop.
Using the Climate FRESK cards our facilitators will guide you through the science behind climate change and the cause and consequence sequences that can encourage real change.
You will have the opportunity to discuss your own climate concerns in a nurturing environment with like-minded people.

FACILITATORS TRAINING _ Biodiversity FRESK
This training session will be led by Ash Goddard who is an experienced facilitator and has extensive knowledge about the climate and biodiversity crisis. Ash will led us through the complex causes and consequences currently effecting the biodiversity crisis.
The collaborative Biodiversity Fresk workshop will teach you about nature science and ecosystem services, and empower you to take action. You will team up to play the serious game, develop your creativity and share your perspectives on the way to transition & transformation.
Our entire global economy depends on nature, this workshop will deepen your understanding of it and help you to develop creative, nature-positive solutions.
Once you’ve completed this training, you’ll be able to facilitate workshops for your friends, family, neighbours and, in fact, anyone you want.

Storytelling with Jake Evans
Join Jake Evans for a chance to tell your own story.
Come with a story idea and get some tips from the amazing Jake Evans about how to develop and tell your story to an audience.
This is a great opportunity for our Home Ed/Flexi-School families to have a small group interaction with a professional story teller.

Nature's Wings Workshop
Join textile artist, Ami Walker, for our Lovleyland workshop exploring our connection with nature through textile art.
You’ll draw inspiration from the natural landscape around you to make a piece of textile art that will go on and be part of our exhibit for the Shrewsbury Nature Trail 2023.
We will explore various techniques including printmaking, appliqué, painting and embroidery.
March 20th, 12pm - 2pm, Atinham Park

It is a visual representation of a community coming together, breaking down barriers to participation in art by providing an inclusive and nurturing environment

Hat Christmas Tree
We will be decorating a Christmas tree at St Chad’s Christmas Tree Festival. We need people to help us decorate. We will be meeting at St Chads at 10am on the 6th Dec.

Composting Pumpkins
Join us at Paul’s Patch on Saturday to help compost your unwanted pumpkins. They will make good additions to our compost system and help make healthy compost.
As always there will be tea and cake!

Join the Castlefield Yarn Bombers as they get ready for their winter project. Working with AGE UK and tasing money for Shelter we are creating a knitted Christmas Tree to be displayed at St Chad’s Chirstmas Tree Festival in December.
Feel free to bring your own craft project to work on or join in and make a green hat to add to the collection.
If you knit, crochet, felt, sow you are very welcome, experienced or just starting out you are welcome here.

Join mosaic artist, Lindsey Kennedy to explore working with mosaics. Design and make you own mini mosaic to take home.

Sing and Sign Sunflower Growathon
Working with the lovely Rachael from Sing and Sign Shrewsbury we will be launching our Sunflower Growathon. Sing and sign families will recieve their packs in Rachael’s Sing and SIgn classes at the end of term and our sunflower growing kits will be available to our Lovelylanders in a number of locations to be annouced.
Felting Workshop
Learn how to use needle felting and simple hand stitches to create a nature-inspired piece of artwork with local textile artist, Maxine Smith.
n this one day workshop, Maxine will help you to produce an unusual and unique felted wool picture which will be framed for you to take home.
The price of this workshop is £20 with limited places. You can purchase tickets for this event in the Lovelyland Shop

Potato Day
Lovelyland's annual Potato Day is open to families who would like to learn more about growing their own food. You can choose your own seed potatoes from a ramge of unusal looking varieties and take them home with fun and simple instructions.
Our volunteers will be there to offer refreshments and there will be chances to meet others and chat. The event is a free drop-in event there is no need to book simply turn up.
This is part of the Lovelyland Nature Project and is funded by the National Lottery’s Community Fund.
Wildlife Friendly Winter Decorations
Join Clare and the team as we take a look at how the winter season effects our native wildlife and learn about hibernation. Make bird friendly, winter decorations for your garden trees and help feed your bird friends for Christmas.

Libby will be reading ‘Dear Earth’ by Isobel Otter. This book was supplied by the wonderful Button and Bear bookshop.

Bees Wax Wrap Workshop
Join us for an exciting exploration of nature and printmaking!
During the session we will embark on a short nature walk in the surrounding area hunting out the local flora and fauna. We will collect treasures along the way to use when we get back, printing directly from our found objects we will make some beeswax wraps adorned with the patterns of nature to take home!
Through this workshop we hope to not only ignite an interest in the natural world but to highlight the importance of caring for it through more sustainable living, one of the biggest things to tackle is our use of single use plastics within the home! The beeswax wraps we will create are the perfect alternative to cling film in the home and can be used to wrap leftovers, sandwiches, cheese and a whole range of other foods, it can also be used to cover dishes/jars.
Beeswax has antibacterial and anitfungal properties helping keep things clean and reducing risks of contamination or the growth of yeasts and other fungi, the wraps once made are reusable all you have to do is rinse them with a mild dish soap and some cold water and leave them to dry!

Lovelyland Circle
In Lovelyland we want to make meaningful connections with others and with the world around us, to do that we need to work on the relationship we have with ourselves.
This programme is for anyone who wants to explore those connections through simple nature-based activities. Join us for a series of seasonal gatherings where we will safely, come together and explore the effect our connection with nature has on our life experiences and wellbeing.
When you sign up for the programme you will receive your Lovelyland Notebook, a series of Nature Nudges (simple activity ideas to get you gently thinking about the part nature plays in your life) and invitations to the Lovelyland Nature Cirlcles (small, safe outdoor gatherings).
